Both the Airdrie Fire Department (AFD) and Airdrie RCMP were called out yesterday (April 13) evening to reports of a pickup truck colliding with a vehicle parked in a residential driveway and setting off a series of damaging collisions.
It happened around 7:12 pm on the 200 block of Reunion Boulevard in Airdrie. Airdrie Deputy Fire Chief Garth Rabel says when fire crews reached the scene they found a pickup had left the roadway and collided with the rear of the parked vehicle.
“That vehicle was then pushed violently into the front corner of the attached garage, at which time the truck then careened off, crashed through the closed garage overhead door, before striking and badly damaging another vehicle that was parked inside.”
According to Rabel, a second vehicle inside the garage also received minor damage in the incident.
