A prominent Saskatoon auto dealership was fined $35,000 in connection with a workplace accident that left an employee with a broken arm.
The incident took place Jan. 29, 2015 at Jubilee Ford Sales (1983) Ltd., when a worker was trying to fix an overhead door and an anchor bracket came loose. The door came down on the worker’s forearm, causing several fractures, according to a provincial government news release.
Jubilee Ford Sales pleaded guilty in Saskatoon provincial court on Aug. 18 to one charge under the province’s Occupational Health and Safety regulations related to the maintenance of equipment. Two other charges were stayed.
